On the island of Pico you can find plenty of places to visit. From the magnificent volcanic landscape of the island - one of the 7 Natural Wonders of Portugal – to a dive with sharks or dolphins.
On land, you can visit the vineyards of Pico classified as World Heritage by UNESCO in 2004 and other places as Pico Museums and better understand the history of this island.
Apart from whaling industry museum and the wine museum you can also visit the Center for Arts and Marine Sciences, the Cave of Torres and the Landscape of the Pico Island Vineyard Culture Interpretation Centre.
At sea, you can watch whales. The Azores “one of the world's best whale watching spots” according to the British newspaper The Telegraph . However , for adventure fans you can still dive with sharks or even cetaceans.
On land, you can go horso riding, bird watching or doing hiking trails.
